Earth Day. Let's be kind to her.

Earth Day

Earth Day has been beautiful in my part of the world. Spring has most certainly sprung…finally! I always marvel how mild weather so drastically affects people’s moods – including my own. Not rushing to get out of the cold, biting wind and temperatures allows me to slow down, just the littlest bit. If only every day was as nice as this Earth Day.

Don’t Get Overwhelmed

I know there is a myriad of challenges our mother Earth is facing. We are constantly reminded of the need to recycle, reuse, re-whatever-we-can-do to help repair our ailing world. The enormity of the task is overwhelming, and I often feel paralyzed and unable to act. I feel like my little efforts don’t make a difference. But they do.

Step by Step

I know some amazing people are able to make major impacts on the environment. I respect and applaud their efforts. So far, I have not done anything that would be categorized as impressive. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to try. It helps me to think of the small, doable things I can do. Today. Right now. I can reuse my water bottle or pick up that piece of trash. I can turn off the water while I brush my teeth. None of those things feel overwhelming. Those little steps become good habits. We end up wondering…why would I have ever left the water running anyway? And step by step, we can change the world.

How are you going to be kind to our earth?
